Network Engineer

Position Description If you love high profile and challenging network administration projects supporting the US Navy - Serco has a great opportunity for you! This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret level clearance post-employment.Serco supports the US Navy with the Government Owned, Contractor Operated (GOCO) Project Management System – Extranet Sites (PMS-ES) information system. PMS-ES was purpose-built to meet the data and workflow management needs unique to Navy acquisition programs and provides the ability to securely transmit and process information and data deliverables across the various ship design projects, activities, processes, and functions. You will be part of a team that works closely with the Navy customer to maintain the PMS-ES system.In this role you will:Install and configure hardware/software and monitor network infrastructure and Windows domain environments.Maintain hardware/software inventory.Apply OS updates and patches.Troubleshoot network and server performance issues.Troubleshoot hardware/software issues.Provide administration and troubleshooting support for laptop/desktop workstations for the PMS-ES team.Procure hardware/software and vendor support.Deploy servers and workstations and perform troubleshooting.Support the PMS-ES Information System Security Engineer (ISSE).Coordinate with ISSE to review/apply OS security controls (STIGs/SRGs) and monitor for compliance with new/updated security controls.Analyze output from network vulnerability assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.Recommend upgrades, patches, hardware/software, and network devices for the local network infrastructure.Prepare technical documentation and monthly reports. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will have: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Network Administration or related field plus 8-10 years experience.Must be able to obtain an active DoD Top Secret clearance post-employment.Must be a U.S. citizen.Some weekend or after-hours support may be needed.Additional desired experience and skills:Citrix client server knowledge is desirable.An active Top Secret clearance is highly desirableCertifications in Network Administration and/or Cybersecurity are desirable.Familiarity with SCAP, CMRS, and other cybersecurity tools and scans is desirable.
