Job Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, which encompass physical examinations and extensive reviews of medical histories
- Assist surgeons in diagnosing surgical conditions through the interpretation of imaging studies and laboratory results
- Work in partnership with surgeons to develop and implement individualized surgical treatment plans
- Provide critical intraoperative assistance, including prepping operative spaces, ensuring correct patient positioning, and managing surgical instruments during operations
- Deliver outstanding pre- and post-operative care involving medication management, wound care, discharge planning, and patient education
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Completion of clinical rotations focusing on surgical practices is highly favored
- Active and unrestricted PA-C certification
- BLS and ACLS certification are mandatory
- State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
- In-depth understanding of surgical principles and sterile techniques
- Demonstrated capability to interpret diagnostic tests and influence complex clinical decisions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Capacity to perform under pressure, especially in surgical situations
