Position Overview

Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join a growing manufacturing team in Tulsa. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC lathes and other precision machining equipment while producing high-quality components in a fast-paced manufacturing or job shop environment.

The ideal candidate has strong CNC machining experience, is capable of performing machine setups and basic program edits, and is committed to producing precision parts while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards.

Required Experience & Skills
• 3-5 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing or job shop environment
• Strong knowledge of CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and machining processes
• Ability to read, interpret, and make basic edits to CNC programs
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation
• Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, O.D./I.D. micrometers, and gauges
• Strong mathematical skills, including feeds and speeds, angles, and fraction-to-decimal conversions
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and related machining equipment
• Read, interpret, and perform basic edits to CNC programs as required
• Produce precision-machined parts according to engineering specifications and customer requirements
• Calculate feeds, speeds, and machining parameters to achieve required finishes and tolerances
• Perform in-process and final quality inspections using precision measuring equipment
• Maintain machinery, tooling, and equipment in proper operating condition
• Follow 5S and lean manufacturing practices to maintain organized work areas
• Maintain productivity standards within assigned work cells
• Train and mentor less-experienced machinists and operators as needed
• Communicate production concerns, quality issues, and equipment needs with supervisors and team members
• Perform additional machining and production duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience operating CNC lathes in a precision manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
• Previous experience mentoring or training production personnel
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday
• Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and movement around machining equipment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance
• Ability to safely operate CNC machinery while wearing required PPE

• Precision CNC machine shop and manufacturing facility
