Job Description

The Medical-Surgical RN is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The role includes working with a talented team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and experiences. The hospital emphasizes a positive and caring attitude towards all patients as a priority in delivering healthcare services.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient progress and report changes to the healthcare team.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding care plans.
• Assure the execution of proper patient care practices and protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records using the Meditech documentation system.
• Assist in the floating policy to support patient care across units as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active TX RN License (temporary licenses are not accepted).
• At least 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical nursing.
• BLS certification.
• Experience with Meditech charting.
• Competency in IV peripheral starts and care, central line care, tube/drain management (NG, JP, chest tube, ostomy care).
