Overview Emergency Room - ER RN - Travel Nurse role at TotalMed in Urbana, IL. 1-2 years of recent acute care experience is preferred. Immediate travel nurse opening. Responsibilities As an ER Travel Nurse, you will work with a diverse team of caregivers to evaluate, triage and implement care following correct procedures and physician instructions. RNs should have experience caring for patients in a fast-paced, urgent and emergency environment. ER RNs will perform minor medical operations, advise patients and family on illnesses or injuries, and plan long-term care needs. Other responsibilities include documenting medical history, checking for allergies, obtaining patient vital signs, and monitoring patients’ emotional and physical well-being. Provide basic bedside care. Clean and bandage wounds. Provide IV therapy. Maintain supplies and medical equipment. Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies. Qualifications ACLS, BLS, PALS, 2 Years experience Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment. Physical requirements ER Travel Nurses should be able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty. They should be able to lift up to 20 pounds easily, with possible patient lifting up to 50 pounds. The fast-paced environment requires good coping skills and the ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
