Radiology Technologist

Location: Gilbert Shift: Mon-Fri (Days Vary), Shifts Vary, 5:00am-1:30pm Employee Type: Full-Time Position Summary This position performs a variety of diagnostic radiography imaging procedures to provide data for diagnosis and monitoring of disease and injuries in accordance with all applicable standards, regulations, and licensing requirements. Requires competence in a variety of equipment and technologies and performs duties in a range of acute care pediatric-centered settings. Responsibilities Perform a variety of diagnostic radiography imaging tests as prescribed by physicians and providers, determining proper techniques to ensure optimal results in accordance with all applicable standards and procedures. Perform regular equipment calibration and maintenance in accordance with established instructions and identify and troubleshoot malfunctions to ensure continuous proper and safe operations. Report service needs and preventive maintenance issues as appropriate. Finalize functions, including limited coding using the radiology information system (RIS) to provide timely and accurate patient information and charge capture, and archive records in accordance with radiologist specifications. Maintain professional and technical competency by continually pursuing knowledge and self‑improvement and keeping apprised of current literature, practices, and new developments in diagnostic imaging. Provide diagnostic radiography safety information to patients, families, and other affected parties to ensure thorough understanding of procedure protocols. Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as requested. Qualifications Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited school of radiology program (Required). Additional related education and/or experience (Preferred). Pediatric experience (Preferred). Familiarity with the surgical environment (Preferred). Ability to work in a team environment, inter‑departmental and inter‑organizational, as well as independently to provide the best of care through effective communication and operational efficiency (Required). Current ARRT registration (Required). Current Arizona Department of Health Services Medical Radiologic Technologists license: Certified Radiologic Technologist (Required). Current BLS certification for healthcare provider from the American Heart Association (Required). Physical Requirements & Occupational Exposure/Risk Potential Physical requirements include climbing, touching, fine motor skills, hearing, pushing/pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, stooping/crouching/kneeling/crawling, talking, tasting/smelling, walking, near vision, far vision, color discrimination, use of keyboard/mouse/computer equipment, lifting up to 35 pounds and more, and exposure to office environment, confined areas, noise, airborne communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, fumes, hazardous materials, radiation, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
