Software Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Java AWS Modernization Engineer responsible for designing, maintaining, and modernizing legacy Java applications while transitioning them to scalable, cloud-based architectures on AWS. The role focuses on improving system performance, reliability, and maintainability by refactoring existing platforms and building secure, efficient solutions aligned with business needs. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop RESTful services using Spring Boot Refactor and modernize legacy Java applications to improve performance and reliability Integrate and support applications on AWS services such as EC2, RDS, and S3 Collaborate with product, architecture, and DevOps teams to deliver scalable solutions Work with relational databases and messaging systems for data integration Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues Support CI/CD pipelines and ensure secure application deployments Upgrade and maintain Java and Spring Boot libraries as part of modernization efforts Support ongoing maintenance and enhancement of cloud-based applications Required Skills: 6+ years of experience in Java/J2EE and Spring Boot development Strong experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs Hands‑on experience in modernizing legacy Java applications 2+ years of experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3) Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills with experience in Oracle or DB2 databases Experience with application integration and messaging systems Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues Strong collaboration and communication skills Preferred Skills: Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines Exposure to cloud migration or hybrid cloud architectures Certifications: AWS certifications (preferred but not mandatory) Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) #J-18808-Ljbffr Compunnel
