More about our team * 34‑bed Emergency Department * Provides emergency care to patients across the lifespan * A collaborative, fast‑paced team dedicated to high‑quality, compassionate care * Opportunity to have a voice in improving patient care and making a meaningful impact every day How you'll contribute A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role: * Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities. * Documents patient care provided. * Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family. * Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. * Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs. * Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances. * Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. * Participates in performance improvement and continuing education. * Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed. What we're looking for * Associate's degree in nursing required. * Current licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing or a Compact State. Additional requirements include: * Basic Life Support certification is required. * AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - both required within one year of employment-ACLS & PALS * Previous experience in acute care hospital setting preferred.
