Job Title: RN - Operating Room Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 5 years required License: NC RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Experience circulating in various surgical specialties Description: RN - Operating Room position available. Facility is licensed for 457 beds with Level 3 Trauma designation. It includes a Stroke Center of Excellence and Bariatric Center of Excellence. Department has 19 OR suites with 17 rooms block scheduled. Average of 50 cases are performed per day. Patient types and common diagnoses include trauma, orthopedic trauma, orthopedic total joints, spine, cardiovascular, gynecological, gynecological oncology, robotics, general surgery, hepatopancreaticobiliary, bariatrics, urology, ENT, ophthalmologic, pain management, and plastics. Required skills include experience circulating in trauma, orthopedic trauma, orthopedic total joints, spine, cardiovascular, gynecological, gynecological oncology, robotics, general surgery, hepatopancreaticobiliary, bariatrics, urology, ENT, ophthalmologic, pain management, and plastics cases. Charge RN experience and proficiency in scrubbing are necessary for night shift contracts. Comfort with laparoscopic and open abdominal cases, along with familiarity with orthopedic trauma, cystoscopy, vascular, and robotic procedures, is a plus. The candidate must be flexible, self-driven, and a motivated team player. Department support includes clinical supervisors, charge nurses, educators, unit secretaries, and technical engineers. Technology and equipment utilized include EMR systems and typical OR equipment. Weekend rotation is required every fourth weekend with scheduling flexibility. Call is required with an average of 6 shifts per 6-week schedule and a 45-minute response time. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Requests for time off require manager approval. Shift times may vary based on departmental needs. The department culture emphasizes teamwork and collaboration.
