ProSidian is seeking an Excel Automation Specialist for Excel Spreadsheet Modernization. This position is based on a technical element or contract W-2 (IRS-1099) basis and is located in Washington, DC, and Reston, Virginia, supporting the Agriculture and Food Industry Sector.

The role involves providing services and support as an Information Technology Center Support (Excel Automation Specialist) focusing on IT Effectiveness Solutions for clients such as the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and USDA Agriculture Marketing Service (AMS) Cotton & Tobacco (C&T) Program. The work is generally located in CONUS: Washington, DC, and Reston, Virginia and across the Mid Atlantic Region.

Responsibilities and Duties - Excel Automation Specialist | Excel Spreadsheet Modernization

• Create, modify, and troubleshoot Excel macros.
• Implement Power Query and Power Pivot for advanced data analysis.

Excel Automation:

• Expertise in using VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) to create, modify, and troubleshoot macros for automating data entry, reporting, and analysis processes.
• Experience with Excel Power Query and Power Pivot for advanced data modeling and analysis.

Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP): For understanding business needs and translating them into efficient technical solutions. Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) | Expert in Excel, experience in VBA. Experience in Information Technology, Data Science, Financial Analysis, Statistics, Computer Science, or Business Management. Strong background in financial analysis, data management, or agricultural economics relevant to the USDA AMS Cotton & Tobacco Program. No specific licensure required. Desired Skills: Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) | Expert in Excel.

• Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP): For understanding business needs and translating them into efficient technical solutions.
• Lean Six Sigma Certification: To streamline processes, which is critical for modernizing complex, macro-heavy Excel sheets.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification: Essential for managing the modernization of Excel spreadsheets and meeting deadlines for different divisions.

Skills Required:

• VBA expertise, advanced Excel automation, Power Pivot/Power Query proficiency.

Functional Skillset Attributes:

• Data Analysis Expertise: Ability to perform advanced data analysis using Excel, including data cleaning, transformation, and summarization. This includes strong experience with financial data, agricultural data, and budget templates.
• Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency with Excel's advanced features such as PivotTables, macros, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, complex formulas, and automated reporting.
• Business Process Understanding: Ability to understand and optimize the workflow, including budget formulation, financial reporting, and user-fee billing and analysis. Familiarity with the USDA's specific reporting requirements, especially those related to cotton price statistics, revenue and collection reports, and salary/benefits tracking.
