Dual Rate Service Technician II/Facilities Shift Manager

The Service Technician II (primary position) is called upon to fill the Facilities Shift Manager (secondary position) when needed. The Service Technician II shall be responsible for repair and maintenance of the casino/hotel buildings and grounds. The Facilities Shift Manager shall be responsible for assisting the Director of Facilities and under their direction oversee the Facilities Department operations on a daily/shift basis. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Coordinate and assist in maintaining and cleaning of the building grounds such as sweeping lots, removing snow, mowing grass and watering the shrubbery and grass.

2. Repair and maintain physical structures of the casino.

3. Replace defective electrical switches and other lighting equipment as needed.

4. Troubleshoot electrical problems and repairs.

5. Repair or replace locks as needed and repairs or replaces mechanical equipment in building as needed.

6. Repair and replace plumbing fixtures as necessary.

7. Determine problems with heating and air conditioning system and initiate appropriate action.

8. Perform routine maintenance tasks at the casino daily.

9. Coordinate and assist in keeping public areas in and around the facilities free of litter and debris (meaning parking lot and outside main entrance).

10. Perform routine and preventive maintenance on facilities equipment.

11. Responsible for the safety and security of personnel within the facilities for ensuring safety devices are in good proper working order.

12. Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.

13. Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times.

14. Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.

15. Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.

16. Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.

17. Attend all necessary meetings.

18. Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule.

ADDITIONAL SECONDARY POSITION DUTIES:

1. Under the direction of Facilities Management, will ensure the profitability and continuous smooth operation of all Facilities Departments.

2. Work closely with managers to develop schedules and plans based on the departments operating requirements and equipment needs.

3. Seek input from management and personnel in the development of goals, objectives, and tactical strategies.

4. Conduct periodic evaluations of labor requirements and productivity, and make recommendations regarding staffing levels and performance management. Utilize all personnel effectively to support operations and maintain viability of the departmental facilities. Responsible for overseeing that all corporate and departmental policies are adhered to that corrective action is properly addressed and processed according to rules and regulations.

5. Oversee effective training, recognition, coaching and discipline and other personnel related issues under the guidance of Facilities Management.

6. Identify areas for employee development and coordinate and participate in departmental training programs.

7. Manage work of all staff and oversees that they meet and adhere to all job function requirements.

8. Meet formally and informally with all departments to ensure plans are supported and all requirements such as operating conditions, parts, tooling, labor, contract services, and environmental and safety programs are in place.

9. Supervise inspection and maintenance of mechanical and tool equipment. Establish procedures and standardized methods of work. Develop maintenance and outage plans and establish preventive maintenance programs. Review faulty equipment reports and investigates equipment failures. Provide information and recommendations regarding equipment overhaul, replacement, and modifications.

10. Must observe and comply with all standard safety codes and practices, and perform work in accordance with recognized trade and company standards and, where applicable, local, state, and federal laws. Ensure compliance with company safety and environmental policies and procedures. Provide leadership for daily implementation of safety and environmental programs. Perform work with highest regard for employee safety and departmental reliability.

11. Ensure MSDS’s are obtained for all hazardous materials entering the department. Implement materials handling program to ensure movement of materials is performed safely. Provide technical assistance to environmental health and safety on materials handling, heavy duty and light duty equipment and tool safety, departmental planning, and safety and environmental reports.

12. Oversee that contractors maintain communications with operations personnel, ensure OSHA compliance (i.e. confined space, hot work, etc.) and to ensure equipment meets health and safety requirements. Oversee plans, schedules, and coordinates the work of contractors in construction, renovation, and modification projects.

13. Adhere to all Purchasing, HR, and TERO compliance regulations.

14. Work independently without direct supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience:

1. Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.

2. High school diploma or equivalent required.

3. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory position preferred.

4. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in industrial or power plant operations and equipment, technical fields of electrical, heating/air conditioning systems (such as boilers, chillers, diesels and auxiliary equipment), and plumbing.

5. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in facility maintenance operations (carpentry, masonry, painting, welding, kitchen appliance/refrigeration maintenance/repair, mechanical equipment, heavy equipment, key and lock systems and grounds/landscaping)

6. Direct experience in maintenance planning and computer systems.

7. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to substantiate a safe driving record within the parameters acceptable to our liability insurance carrier.

Salary Starting Rate:

$22.00

Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.

Each position has varying minimum qualifications. In the absence of fully qualified candidates, some requirements may be waived.
