Job Title: OR Tech / Surgical Tech

Location: Torrance, CA
Duration: 13-Week Contract
Start Date: ASAP
Shift: Day Shift - 4x10-Hour Schedule (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Compensation

• Traveler Pay: $37-$40 per Hour ($1,480-$1,600 Weekly)
• Local Pay: $25-$28 per Hour ($1,000-$1,120 Weekly)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room (OR) Tech / Surgical Technologist to support a busy surgical services department. The ideal candidate will have strong scrub experience, be proficient in a variety of surgical specialties, and possess the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Candidates with experience supporting advanced surgical technologies, including robotic and laparoscopic procedures, are highly desired.
Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms and surgical equipment for procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection prevention standards.
• Scrub and assist surgeons during surgical procedures.
• Set up, organize, and manage case carts and surgical supplies.
• Handle surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile field maintenance throughout procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning, room turnover, and post-procedure activities.
• Support robotic and minimally invasive surgical procedures as required.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient surgical workflow.
• Float between similar units as needed to support patient care and operational requirements.

Required Qualifications
Certifications

• Current BLS Certification required.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of recent Surgical Technologist/OR Tech experience required.
• First-time travelers accepted.

Required Skills

• Case Cart management experience.
• Surgical Scrub experience.
• Da Vinci Xi robotic surgery scrub experience.
• Laparoscopic surgery scrub experience.

Preferred Experience

• Neonatal surgical cases.
• Infant and Pediatric surgical cases.
• Assembly and wrapping of surgical instruments and trays.
• Mako Robotic Surgery experience.
• Ophthalmology (Eye) surgical case experience.

Call Requirements

On-Call Required

• Every 6 weeks:
  • Two weeknight call shifts (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • One 48-hour weekend call rotation (Saturday 7:00 AM - Monday 7:00 AM)

Additional Scheduling Requirements

• Must work one Saturday day shift (8 hours) as part of a rotating schedule.
• Travelers may be required to float between similar units.
• Requested Time Off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission.
