Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical, performance-obsessed, and systems-minded Senior Full Stack Engineer (Backend Leaning) to join our client’s core centralized engineering team in a full-time remote capacity open to qualified software craftspeople resident anywhere in the United States. Entering an environment where engineering velocities directly dictate market impact, you will step up to claim true individual operational and strategic accountability over backend systems, API layers, and database scaling infrastructures. Shifting completely away from routine script modifications, passive documentation filing, or simple frontend layout tuning loops, you will run an active server architecture and API design laboratory—designing robust financial microservices, setting foundational code patterns, and leveraging advanced AI-assisted development tools to safely multiply your operational throughput. This position requires a software engineering veteran with 5+ years of craft depth who maps out scalable cloud services fluidly natively using Node.js runtimes, configures type-safe interfaces cleanly natively leveraging Backend engineering methodologies with TypeScript, and commands distributed architectures confidently under high-concurrency cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End System Ownership: Architect, implement, and maintain core backend financial systems and microservices from initial structural design through testing, secure deployment, and cloud-scale optimization cleanly natively utilizing Node.js runtimes.
• High-Performance API Engineering: Design, document, and scale highly performant, resilient REST and GraphQL APIs to support critical account management and automated lending workflows cleanly natively leveraging Backend best practices.
• Cloud Infrastructure Configuration: Deploy and maintain scalable, secure backend software architectures inside Amazon Web Services (AWS), utilizing modern containerization, serverless runtimes, and compute instances.
• Pragmatic Architectural Governance: Evaluate complex engineering trade-offs independently, balancing rapid product delivery timelines with long-term system maintainability, performance safety, and scalability.
• Engineering Practice Standardization: Establish high-quality technical blueprints, testing expectations, and code patterns to elevate standard execution levels across the engineering cell.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a highly related technical field of study.
• A minimum of 5 years of verified professional history running advanced software engineering operations, web application development, or server-side system management with a distinct backend specialization.
• Expert-tier capability building asynchronous backend services, handling transaction blocks, and tuning server tasks natively utilizing Node.js infrastructure.
