Opportunity:


Medical Assistant - Medical Assistant


Job Details:


• Monday through Friday schedule, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM with no weekends and no on-call responsibilities
• Average of 10 to 20 patients per day
• Room patients and obtain vitals, screenings, and allergies
• Process orders and complete prior authorizations for procedures
• Assist with injections including patient positioning, room set up, and supporting physician with ultrasound-guided injections
• Answer patient messages via telephone and online messaging system
• Process medication refill proposals for APCs and physicians
• Utilize computerized charting via Cerner, ultrasound machine for injections, and EEG machine (MA responsibilities include entering patient information and positioning only)
• Possible float to Pain Management, Neurology, and Sleep Departments
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program required; certification preferred (CMA, RMA)
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Dress code: Scrubs

This medical center's Physical Medicine Department is a collaborative and supportive environment staffed by a team of dedicated providers and clinical staff. The department utilizes modern equipment including an ultrasound machine for injections and EEG technology, supported by a comprehensive Cerner-based charting system. New Medical Assistants are paired with experienced staff during orientation to learn the Cerner platform and general workflow, ensuring a smooth transition into the role.
