Respiratory Therapist

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for delivering essential cardiopulmonary services, adhering to protocols established by the medical staff and departmental policies. The ideal candidate provides timely diagnostic and therapeutic services to both inpatient and outpatient populations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality respiratory care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with both invasive and non-invasive procedures.
• Administer medicated aerosols using medical compressed gas systems.
• Maintain patient airways and manage ventilator support effectively.
• Perform ventilator management, including weaning protocols.
• Conduct invasive procedures such as intubations and arterial line insertions.
• Carry out pulmonary function studies and cardiac/pulmonary stress tests.
• Analyze blood gases to assess patient respiratory health.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in ventilator management, tracheostomy care, ET tube placement, CPAP/BiPAP, and nebulizer treatments.
• Registered (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Active Oklahoma Respiratory Therapist license.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications, issued by the American Heart Association.
