Business Development Director

GH2 Architects, LLC (GH2) is seeking an experienced Business Development Director to join our award-winning team. GH2 maintains offices in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Denver, and Phoenix. This position is available at our Oklahoma City location. In this role, you will: identify new project opportunities, develop and implement strategies to drive business growth, and build and nurture relationships with clients and industry partners. Founded in 1973, GH2 is a highly collaborative team passionate about providing our clients with world‑class designs and services. Our national team of dedicated professionals provides fully integrated in‑house architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture services. Our firm operates with a flat organizational structure and has a diverse portfolio of work, including education, government/public, healthcare, office, non‑profit, and recreation. GH2 maintains dedicated specialty practices in hospitality, equine, and historic preservation architecture. GH2 team members participate in a design‑oriented practice with colleagues who celebrate exceptional work, client service, and engagement with our professions and communities. They receive supplemental technical and professional education tailored to their interests and professional goals. Key Responsibilities: Business Development Planning: Develop and own the Oklahoma City business development plan, including clear objectives, strategies, and budgets to drive growth. Market & Client Intelligence: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify targets aligned with GH2’s strengths and strategic objectives. Relationship Development: Build and sustain relationships with prospective and existing clients, industry partners, and influencers to expand GH2’s presence in the region. Pursuit Leadership: Partner with leadership and marketing on go/no‑go recommendations, pursuit strategy, and development of qualifications, proposals, and interview materials. Brand Presence: Represent the firm at business development conferences and community events; collaborate with the marketing team on sponsorships, advertising, and social media to strengthen visibility and support pursuits. Pipeline Management: Maintain a healthy opportunity pipeline, track progress in the CRM, and provide regular forecasting and status updates to firm leadership. Position Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field. 5+ years of business development experience (preferred in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry) with a strong grasp of industry terminology and delivery methods. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail. Strong planning, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor messages to client stakeholders. Demonstrated networking ability and comfort initiating and sustaining professional relationships. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross‑functional teams. Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and proposal/pursuit tools; able to maintain accurate, actionable records. Preferred: Existing relationships and a track record of wins within the Oklahoma City/region AEC market. Preferred: Experience with public procurement processes (RFQs/RFPs). Why Join GH2?
