Sr. Systems Technician

Job Title: Sr. Systems TechnicianJob Description We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Systems Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in building mechanical and opto-mechanical assemblies, supporting development and prototyping, and conducting failure investigations. You will work closely with design engineers on early hardware builds and will be responsible for installing and dressing both fiber optic and electrical cables. Responsibilities Build mechanical assemblies. Build opto-mechanical assemblies. Support development, prototyping, and failure investigations. Install and dress fiber optic cables. Install and dress electrical cables. Collaborate with design engineers on early hardware builds. Essential Skills Proficiency in mechanical assembly and precision alignment of mechanical components. Experience with optical systems or related technical field. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Proficiency in technical documentation and procedure writing. 2+ years of experience in optical systems or related technical field. Experience with laboratory equipment and testing procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate's degree in Electronics, Photonics, or related technical field. Bachelor's degree in a related technical field (preferred). Experience with optical communication systems. Knowledge of clean room protocols. Familiarity with laser safety procedures. Work Environment This position is based onsite in Redmond, WA. You will join a multi-discipline team responsible for the development of high bandwidth systems for free space optical communication between satellites. Your work will involve building and testing fiber optical assemblies and supporting the assembly and test of free space optical assemblies. Expect to encounter challenging and novel situations daily, requiring comfort with ambiguity and a passion for solving unprecedented problems at scale. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of REDMOND, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
