Leading biopharma, diagnostic and academic institutions trust us to quickly deliver high-quality biospecimens and reliable, reproducible biomarker data, so they can outpace their competition and push the leading edge of innovation using our Science at your Service TM business model.The FFPE Warehouse Associate contributes to our mission by managing the flow of goods and services, especially the movement and storage of raw materials from hospital partners, and inclusive of work-in-process inventory as well as finished goods to point of consumption.A Day in the Life of a FFPE Warehouse Associate at Discovery Life Sciences:Receive, pick and pack raw material.Keep accurate records of materials coming and leaving.Review priorities daily to ensure order requests are fulfilled in a timely mannerPosition Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):High School diploma or GED requiredPrevious warehouse and logistics experience in the biotechnology sector is preferredProven expertise in control of documents and material trackingKnowledge of universal precautions, bloodborne pathogens, and handling human specimens preferredExcellent computer skills, including familiarity with Excel preferredAbility to lift or move 30 lbs regularly and move up to 300 pounds occasionally on a pallet jackAbility to use pallet jack and hand truck preferredKey Responsibilities:Follow SOP's related to the warehouse (i.e. receiving of raw goods process, safety guidelines)Receive and inspect shipments for damage and missing samplesMaintain records of all samples received and removed from warehousePerform slide and block pulls to fulfill orders or build inventory – deliver to company FFPE LaboratoryConduct disposal of paraffin blocks and slides as designed in Block Retirement Strategy.Assist in Data Team Responsibilities by entering diagnosis and staging information on each case assignedLearn fire monitoring system and controlled access security systemServe as first responder to temperature monitor events and other site emergenciesMaintain a clean and safe working environmentRespect the privacy of the personal information of patients, co-workers, and all individuals with whom the Company interactsEnsure compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to the Company and its operationsCompensation and Benefits:Discovery Life Sciences is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices, and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive.
