Radiology Imaging Support Specialist

The Radiology Imaging Support Specialist is responsible for accessing, managing, distributing, and inputting radiology images, orders, and data for all our customers and maintains customer service in radiology waiting areas. Essential functions include utilizing all corporate radiology computer systems effectively and accurately. The specialist receives outpatients to the imaging department, ensures the validity of prescriptions, inputs HIS system orders, and assures comfort during the wait time. They import and export images as needed according to OH guidelines, open, read, and burn images to a CD for patient or physician release, and perform data integrity and validation of transferred/copied images to ensure no data loss has occurred. They learn and maintain proficiency in all existing and new image and data retrieval and distribution medians such as HIS, PACS, CR and Image Workstations. The specialist maintains thorough knowledge of policies, system problem resolution techniques, and system downtime processes. They understand departments and hospital systems and operations, how they correlate and interface to other services and systems provided by OH and other facilities, and the impact on our customers. They communicate effectively, openly, and encourage conflict resolution within the team. They demonstrate a positive attitude, professional appearance, and demeanor, and communicate effectively with the customer to meet and exceed customer satisfaction. They understand HIPAA regulations and apply these concepts as they relate to the exchange of confidential information. They assume the role of a team leader as necessary to ensure continuous workflow and team cohesiveness. They may be required to participate in training sessions and/or workshops related to technology changes and/or new innovations. They maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards. They maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures, department guidelines and education requirements.
