Electrician Technician II

Join a dedicated team in Atlanta, GA as an Electrical Technician II, supporting the installation, maintenance, and certification of battery systems for Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems. Responsibilities

• Assist with battery replacements and new installations for UPS systems.
• Support preventative and scheduled maintenance of battery systems with minimal disruption to customers.
• Provide assistance in the warehouse as needed.
• Interact professionally with internal teams and external clients.
• Follow operational, maintenance, and emergency procedures (MOPs).
• Adhere strictly to facility work rules and safety protocols.
• Utilize hand tools and general maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site during all phases of work.
• Support other service divisions (such as Switch Gear, Operations, HVAC) as required.
• Work from schematic diagrams, sketches, and verbal instructions.
• Learn to disconnect and connect sealed batteries in cabinets and open racks.
• Develop skills in building battery racks and spill containment systems.
• Learn to install flooded cell batteries onto rack systems in critical spaces.
• Enter pre-installation test readings and collect data for reporting using a laptop computer.
• Gain experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs on DC battery systems with increasing independence.
• Travel approximately 30% or more as required for service calls.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Services Management.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of or willingness to learn AC/DC theory, electronic components, and circuitry.
• Ability to safely operate department equipment and use hand tools.
• Familiarity with or ability to learn the use of digital multimeters, amp clamps, and battery testing equipment.
• Understanding of or willingness to learn proper use of isolation devices, Arc-Flash suits, and PPE.
• Ability to work with battery string connections (series, parallel, series-parallel).
• Understanding of torque values, torque-mark application, and visual inspection of battery installations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
• OSHA 10-hour certification and NFPA-70E Safety Training (or willingness to obtain).
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
