Preventative Maintenance Technician

Role Description The Preventative Maintenance Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Mount Vernon, IN. This role is responsible for maintaining equipment in storage (non-operating) conditions to prevent deterioration, corrosion, and component failure. This role ensures stored assets remain in ready to deploy state through scheduled inspections, preservation tasks, and documenting maintenance activities. Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled walk-downs and visual inspections of stored equipment skids per PM schedule Check and maintain proper preservation conditions (e.g., desiccant levels, nitrogen purge/blanket pressure, VCI packaging, seals, and covers) Inspect for corrosion, moisture intrusion, pest intrusion, and physical damage Rotate or exercise rotating equipment (motors, pumps, valves) per manufacturer lay-up requirements to prevent seizing or flat-spotting Check and top off lubricants, greases, and preservative fluids as required Verify and maintain cathodic protection or corrosion inhibitor systems where applicable Inspect skid structural integrity, coatings, and paint for signs of weathering Check electrical components/panels for moisture, corrosion, or rodent damage; verify space heaters or dehumidifiers are functioning Document all inspections, readings, and preservation actions in MaintainX Flag and report any equipment showing signs of degradation for further evaluation or repair Ensure equipment tags, labels, and documentation remain legible and up to date Follow company safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards while working in the storage yard Additional Job Duties (as assigned based on business needs) Erect, assemble, and dismantle metal storage racking systems per layout specifications and safety standards Perform light mechanical assembly of components Support general warehouse maintenance tasks, including facility upkeep, minor repairs, and equipment relocation Operate material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, scissor lift) as needed and certified Assist with warehouse layout changes, staging, and space reconfiguration projects Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor to support warehouse and site operations Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Basic hand and power tool proficiency Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits Ability to work outdoors in a yard/storage environment across varying weather conditions Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and access equipment at various heights/positions, including working from ladders or lifts Preferred Qualifications Experience with mechanical, electrical, or rotating equipment Familiarity with equipment lay-up/preservation practices (nitrogen purging, VCI, desiccants) Experience with racking systems, warehouse equipment, or basic piping/valve assembly Ability to read equipment manuals, lay-up procedures, P&IDs/skid drawings, and racking layout diagrams Experience using fork trucks and other mobile equipment #J-18808-Ljbffr Material Management Technologies
