Position Overview

The Dietician will provide comprehensive nutritional care and consultation services for individuals served within the hospital environment. This role includes assessing patient nutritional needs, developing personalized nutrition plans, monitoring dietary progress, and collaborating with physicians, treatment teams, and families to support overall patient wellness.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient nutritional status, dietary needs, and health goals

• Develop individualized nutrition care plans

• Monitor and document patient dietary intake and progress

• Educate patients and families on healthy nutrition and balanced diets

• Consult with physicians, families, and treatment teams regarding nutrition-related care

• Document nutrition recommendations in patient medical records

• Review and approve patient menus in coordination with Food Services

• Collaborate with the Food Service Director to ensure dietary compliance and patient satisfaction

• Maintain compliance with all facility, regulatory, and accreditation standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics and/or Nutrition from an accredited college or university

• Current Registered Dietician (RD) credential through the National Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics

• Current licensure through the Texas State Board of Examiners

• Valid Texas Driver's License

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Dietician

• Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to effectively communicate with physicians, staff, patients, and patient families

Compliance & Training Requirements

Selected candidates must:

• Complete all facility required training

• Follow all facility Standard Operating Procedures

• Maintain compliance with:

  • Joint Commission guidelines

  • CMS Standards

  • Facility policies and procedures

Schedule Details

• Standard Schedule: Monday - Friday

• Typical Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

• No weekends, holidays, or after-hours required

• Schedule may be adjusted by the Food Services Director based on hospital operational needs
