The Role The Pricing Manager is responsible for leading the company's pricing strategy, customer RFP process, and awarded business management. This role serves as the primary owner of pricing operations, partnering closely with Sales, Carrier Sales, Operations, Data, and Executive Leadership to develop competitive pricing strategies that maximize award opportunities while driving profitable growth. As the organization's pricing subject matter expert, the Pricing Manager will establish best practices, improve pricing processes, identify market opportunities, and help build a scalable pricing function as the company continues to grow. What You’ll Do Own the end-to-end RFP process from opportunity creation through award implementation. Lead bid review meetings to validate pricing assumptions, customer expectations, lane requirements, and strategic positioning. Analyze transportation market conditions, lane trends, and carrier capacity using DAT, Beagle, and internal pricing tools. Develop pricing strategies that balance competitiveness, customer growth, and profitability. Build and submit pricing proposals through Beagle and customer bidding platforms. Present pricing recommendations, market insights, and award forecasts to Sales Leadership and Executive Leadership. Evaluate awarded business to determine strategic fit, profitability, and operational feasibility. Manage awarded volume within pricing systems and monitor customer commitments. Partner with Carrier Sales to identify carrier capacity and sourcing strategies for contracted freight. Collaborate with Data and Technology teams to improve pricing automation, reporting, and analytical tools. Identify repricing opportunities and portfolio optimization initiatives across existing customers. Monitor lane performance, margin trends, and award utilization to recommend pricing adjustments. Provide ongoing market intelligence and competitive pricing insights to commercial leadership. Develop, document, and continuously improve pricing processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures. Serve as the organization's pricing subject matter expert and help build a scalable pricing function to support future growth. Support spot pricing initiatives and pricing escalations as needed. Experience & Qualifications 5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, freight brokerage pricing, carrier sales, account management, or supply chain analytics. Experience managing transportation RFPs and customer pricing strategies. Strong understanding of truckload pricing, carrier capacity, transportation markets, and brokerage operations. Excellent analytical, financial modeling, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to interpret market trends and translate data into pricing strategies. Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with transportation technology platforms. Experience with Beagle, DAT, pricing automation tools, or similar transportation software preferred. Self‑motivated with the ability to build processes, improve systems, and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
