Roving Maintenance TechnicianThe Roving Maintenance Technician provides maintenance support across multiple properties within the assigned portfolio, responding to staffing gaps, high-volume work periods, and specialized repair needs. Serves as a flexible, mobile technician who supports property teams to maintain consistent service quality and operational performance across the region.The ideal candidate is mission-aligned, dependable, skilled in general maintenance, and committed to providing excellent customer service to residents and staff. This role is essential to creating stable, dignified, and well-maintained communities.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Maintenance & RepairsTravel between properties within the assigned region to provide maintenance coverage during staff absences, vacancies, or high workload periods.Support unit turns, work orders, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs across multiple communities.Assist with troubleshooting complex maintenance issues and provide technical expertise to on-site teams.Ensure consistent application of Archway's maintenance standards, safety protocols, and operating procedures across all supported properties.Communicate regularly with Regional Maintenance Managers to prioritize assignments and report on property needs.Maintain accurate documentation of work performed at each site and ensure timely updates in the work-order system.Build positive working relationships with property staff, residents, and vendors at all supported locations.Complete work orders efficiently and professionally, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliance repair, and general building maintenance.Perform routine inspections of units, common areas, building systems, and grounds.Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues promptly to ensure resident safety and comfort.Assist with HVAC filter changes, smoke detector battery replacements, and other routine tasks.Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance shops, storage areas, and equipment.Compensation Range: The hourly pay for this position is $27- 28 / hour + mileageDetermining Factors: Final compensation is based on experience, education, skills, internal equity, and organizational budget.Career Progression: This position is part of the Property Operations job family. Potential career paths include other leadership roles depending on organizational needs and performance.Unit Turns & Property ReadinessPrepare vacant units for new residents, including cleaning, painting, repairs, and fixture replacement.Ensure unit turns meet quality standards and are completed within required timelines.Document completed work and communicate any issues that may delay readiness.Preventive MaintenanceSupport scheduled preventive maintenance programs across the property.Identify potential issues early and report them to the Maintenance Lead or Regional Manager.Maintain accurate logs of completed preventive maintenance tasks.Safety & ComplianceFollow OSHA safety standards and Archway safety protocols at all times.Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain safe working conditions.Report safety hazards, building concerns, or equipment failures immediately.Support compliance with HUD, LIHTC, ADA, and local building requirements as needed.Customer ServiceInteract with residents in a respectful, professional, and service-oriented manner.Communicate effectively with property management, maintenance leads, and regional teams.Support vendor coordination and monitor contractor work when assigned.Participate in team meetings, training, and cross-department collaboration.Emergency ResponseRespond to after-hours maintenance emergencies on a rotating on-call schedule.Address urgent issues such as leaks, electrical hazards, or safety concerns promptly.Team CollaborationPerforms other related duties as assigned to support team objectives and organizational needs.Work Conditions & Physical DemandsThe physical demands and work conditions described here represent those required to perform the essential functions of this role.
