Seasonal Lifeguard II Seasonal Lifeguard II enforces regulations and protects life at a City pool. This role supervises and schedules lifeguards and other part‑time staff, instructs water safety classes, and assists with training for aquatics personnel. Responsibilities Supervise and schedule part‑time and temporary lifeguards and other staff as needed. Instruct and organize water safety, life‑saving procedures, and swimming classes. Assist with in‑service training for aquatics personnel. Patrol and observe the pool area to ensure appropriate use by patrons. Rescue patrons in distress and administer standard first aid or CPR as needed. Administer advanced first aid for more severe injuries sustained by bathers. Advise supervisor of needed pool or equipment repairs and participate in scheduling repairs. Assist with periodic inspections of rescue and emergency life support equipment. Perform custodial and janitorial tasks to maintain a clean facility. Tally the daily collection of monies received. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum six (6) months experience as a lifeguard. Valid certificates: Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Water Safety Instructor issued by the American Red Cross or another nationally recognized certifying agency. Must pass the City of Miami performance test, which may include swimming, running, and simulated rescue exercises. Willingness to work nights, holidays, and weekends.
