Responsibilities Travel nationwide for 13‑week assignments, working in various settings. Assess needs, develop and deliver physical therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation. Identify need for referral(s) to other disciplines to address comprehensive needs. Implement individualized therapy programs to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance. Instruct, educate, and train patients and caregivers in essential skills for independence and productivity. Direct activities to promote and maintain health. Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel as required by state licensure and professional standards. Deliver rehabilitation services efficiently, adhere to plan of care, schedules, and timely documentation. Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and related meetings. Make referrals to other disciplines and agencies to address comprehensive needs of the patient. Consult with rehabilitation team members to select appropriate therapeutic regimen. Adapt program and/or plan of care according to patient needs. Promote safe environment and eliminate fire/safety hazards. Order supplies and equipment as necessary. Clean, maintain, identify, and report repair needs of equipment. Prioritize patient service: ensure highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere. Screen, examine, and evaluate patients: history, systems review, tests and measures; synthesize data to establish diagnosis, determine improvement levels, predict time required, identify precautions and contraindications, and design treatment plan. Develop appropriate treatment goals and methods collaboratively with patient and caregivers, implement plan, and document all related services. Provide therapeutic techniques: exercise, balance, coordination, agility, body mechanics, posture, flexibility, gait, neuromotor development, relaxation, strength, power, endurance, functional training, manual therapy, airway clearance, integumentary repair, electrotherapy, physical agent, mechanical modalities, adaptive devices (orthotics, prosthetics). Instruct patient in skills and techniques for mobility activities; evaluate progress, attitudes, behavior related to rehabilitation potential. Perform routine re‑examination as needed to modify or progress plan. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications Valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license and eligibility. Master’s degree in Physical Therapy, or Master’s degree in a related field with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy, or Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy plus 5 years of progressively responsible PT experience. Availability to travel to and temporarily reside in locations outside of primary home. PT degree earned outside of the U.S. must be evaluated as U.S. equivalent.
