Responsibilities include promoting and complying with all company and safety policies and procedures, reading blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures, dismantling machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand tools, moving machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks, assembling and installing equipment such as shafting, conveyors and tram rails using hand and power tools, constructing foundation for machines using hand tools and building materials such as wood, cement and steel, aligning machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers and plumb bobs, assembling machines and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastening them to foundation or other structures using hand and power tools, operating engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications, repairing and lubricating machines and equipment, selecting cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved, attaching pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings and gin pole booms using bolts and clamps, attaching load with grappling devices such as loops, wires, ropes and chains, to crane hook, setting up, bracing and rigging hoisting equipments using hand tools and power wrenches, splicing rope and wire cables to make or repair slings and tackle, and may direct workers engaged in hoisting of machinery and equipment. May be required to travel to different jobsites on limited notice. Other duties as assigned by Foreman or Superintendent.QualificationsEducation and work experience requirements: high school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, one to three years related experience and/or training, welding experience preferred.
