Job TitleAdjunct Project Management InstructorJob DescriptionSUNY Adirondack is a teaching- and learning-centered community college that fosters a diverse and equitable learning environment for students of all ages, backgrounds, goals, and learning styles. A member of the State University of New York, the College enrolls approximately 3,000 students in more than 30 unique academic programs that prepare students for both work and transfer to four-year institutions. A demonstrated commitment to working with a diverse student population and to the values of inclusion, engagement, and equity is imperative.Major ResponsibilitiesAdjuncts are assigned a maximum of 9 credit hours and are responsible for all aspects of the courses assigned.Introduction to Project Management: This course introduces students to the frameworks, tools, and practices used to plan, execute, and deliver projects successfully - giving students a practical, career-ready foundation for project-based roles across industries.Develop or adapt course content, syllabus, and assignments aligned with department learning outcomes.Teach core project management concepts: scope, timeline, budget, risk, stakeholder management, and Agile/Waterfall methodologies.Deliver engaging, real-world instruction connecting project management principles to actual business scenarios.Respond to student inquiries in a timely manner.Evaluate student work and submit grades according to college deadlines.Comply with SUNY Adirondack policies, including those on academic integrity, accessibility, and syllabus requirements.Required SkillsProfessional experience managing or leading projectsStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred QualificationsPMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalentPrior college-level teaching experienceEducational RequirementsBachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, or a related field is required. Master's degree in a related field is preferred.Salary: Adjuncts' salary is based on the number of credit hours per semester, remunerated at the rate of $1,285 per credit hour.
