Parkinson's Caregiver

We are looking for one to two dedicated caregivers with experience helping individuals living with Parkinson's Disease to provide exceptional support to our senior clients in their homes, particularly supporting and assisting them with their personal care needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting individuals with daily living activities, managing behaviors, and ensuring a safe & comfortable environment. This role requires a strong understanding of patient care, specifically Parkinson's Disease, and the ability to work effectively in a home care setting. We operate on a two week schedule, allowing consistent care for the clients. This role will require more hands-on assistance with all personal care, including more lifting assistance from time to time as needed. Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle, with a willingness to transport clients as needed is a requirement. The travel expectation is that you can drive to a client as far west as Rochelle, south to Somonauk, east to Route 47 Elburn/Maple Park, and north to Pingree Grove. Availability Requirement Monday - Sunday 8am-12pm & 3pm-8pm; shifts are typically 3hrs twice a day, but the times do vary on occasion based on families needs for extra hours. Benefits $18/hr for this particular caregiver position. Overtime and holidays are paid at time and a half, miles driven in your car while clocked in are paid at $0.70/mile. Support clients with daily living activities, including meal preparation, medication management, and housekeeping. Develop and implement personalized care plans that cater to each client's unique needs and preferences. Utilize effective behavior management techniques to ensure the safety and well-being of clients. Provide transportation to appointments and errands as needed. Maintain a clean and organized living space, adhering to our organization's standards for cleanliness and safety. Build strong relationships with clients and their families, providing emotional support and companionship. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and address any concerns or issues that may arise. Skills Prior knowledge and experience in assisting individuals living with Parkinson's Disease with ADLs. Knowledge of ADLs and the ability to assist with daily living activities. Ability to work effectively in a home care setting, including managing challenging behaviors. Experience working with seniors is preferred, but assistance with those under 65 living with Parkinson's Disease is acceptable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals. All candidates must successfully pass both a federal criminal background check and motor vehicle report. Additionally, all candidates must be eligible under the Illinois Department of Public Health's Healthcare Worker Registry. If you are not already deemed eligible by IDPH, then you will need to have your fingerprints scanned by a third-party vendor, at the expense of the employer. If you are need fingerprinting completed, the employer will notify you and help coordinate this appointment. All candidates must perform drug screening during new hire training.
