Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (Travel)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Floating and call required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide shift-level accountability for patient care in the Emergency Department utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies and procedures
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively to the care team
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects with accuracy and attention to detail
• Demonstrate critical thinking and clinical judgment in anticipating and planning for safe patient care delivery in a Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department
• Delegate patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff, providing direction and supervision as needed
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care while adhering to safety standards, infection control protocols, and quality improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure valid in the state of New Mexico
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications required
• Must be registered with the state of New Mexico (agency registration required for fingerprinting compliance); note that the fingerprint process may take several weeks
• Proficiency with EMR systems; experience with MedHost (EDIS) preferred

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Prior travel nursing experience in an Emergency Department setting
