Project Accountant

Project AccountantOur client, a national construction contractor, has an opening for a Project Accountant with strong construction experience in their Greater Chicago area location.Responsibilities Include:Calculate monthly revenue and GP projections on a weekly basisMaintain weekly / monthly reporting track job performance and profitabilityCreate and analyze weekly / monthly reports for Upper ManagementInvestigate project variances and submit variance reports to managementClose out project accounts upon project completionReport on project profitability to managementReport weekly and monthly financial variances and KPI'sPrepare a 3 month look ahead for Revenue and GP forecastingImprove processes and procedures to create continuous improvement and additional profitsResponsible for understanding contracts billed, unbilled, GP, and projectionsProcess CSR / Revenue closing process for month end; perform detailed general ledger/sub-ledger account reconciliationsWorks with Operations Team to develop annual Revenue BudgetOther Duties:Review Contracts for Billing instructions; communicate details to AR BillerKnowledge of AIA G702/703 Billing Document – Generate Schedule of Values based on estimated budgetInsure proper and timely Contract work & "T&M" (Time and Material) billingsFollow up and collection of Accounts Receivable Invoices including Statement of Account for clientsQualifications:Bachelor Degree in AccountingMust be an excellent team playerExperience using computerized accounting systems (ERP)Strong knowledge of Excel and Word required2+ years of experience in Construction Industry; thorough knowledge of job costing, earned revenue, scheduling, budgets, estimating, as well a GAAPStrong problem solving and analytical skillsAttention to detail and the ability to complete job duties with a high degree of accuracyReport/Crystal Report writing experience is a plus Staff Financial Group
