About the Job

Reporting directly to the Sr. Buyer, the role is a high‑visibility, high‑impact role within the Purchasing at TFI USA.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Handle all purchasing activities; ensure all products are bought competitively and are sufficient and within spec for requirements and aligned with sales targets
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders to maintain adequate stock while minimizing excess inventory.
• Review and analyze purchase requisitions and production requirements.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms with suppliers.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Evaluate supplier performance regarding quality, cost, and delivery.
• Resolve issues related to shortages, late deliveries, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
• Coordinate with production, planning, warehouse, and accounting teams to ensure material availability.
• Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Assist with supplier audits, sourcing projects, and contract management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and purchasing procedures.
• Perform other duties and support other activities assigned by the Management within scope and ability

Requirements/Education/Experience/Skills

• 2 yrs degree in business or similar field of study preferred with 2-5 years’ experience or 7-10 years’ experience in a purchasing role
• Ability to build and sustain vendor relationships
• Strong analytical skills (statistics, economics, modeling)
• Strong organizational skills, handling workload and complexity
• Ability to interface with all levels of company staff in a wide variety of business situations
• Excellent problem-solving, issue resolution and decision-making skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills
• Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Strong organizational skills and ability to ensure deadlines are met
