Maintenance Planner

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment and facilities. This role works closely with maintenance, operations, engineering, and procurement teams to optimize resource utilization, minimize downtime, and improve asset performance.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed maintenance work plans, including labor, materials, tools, permits, and equipment requirements.Schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and production efficiency.Review and prioritize maintenance work orders in collaboration with operations and maintenance leadership.Coordinate with maintenance technicians, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely completion of work.Maintain and update the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) with accurate equipment, work order, and maintenance history data.Identify and procure required spare parts, materials, and services to support scheduled maintenance activities.Monitor maintenance backlog and develop strategies to reduce overdue work orders.Analyze equipment performance and maintenance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce equipment failures and downtime.Track key maintenance performance indicators (KPIs), including schedule compliance, equipment availability, and maintenance costs.Support annual shutdowns, turnarounds, and major maintenance projects.QualificationsAssociate degree in Industrial Technology, Maintenance Management, or a related field preferred.Equivalent combination of education and relevant maintenance planning experience may be considered.1-3 years of maintenance planning, maintenance supervision, or industrial maintenance experience preferred.Skills and CompetenciesExperience using CMMS software such as MaintainX, SAP, Maximo, Infor EAM, or similar systems.
