Scientist I, Medicinal Chemistry

Medicinal chemistry scientist needed to design and synthesize novel small molecules for drug discovery. The role involves structure-based design, collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, and advancing structure-activity relationship studies within a dynamic research environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and synthesize novel chemical entities optimized for potency, selectivity, and efficacy
• Execute and critically analyze high-quality experiments to guide hypothesis formation
• Advance structure-activity relationship studies through compound design contributions
• Collaborate with computational chemistry, structural biology, and cross-functional teams
• Communicate scientific rationale, results, and recommendations to colleagues and project teams

Requirements

• PhD with up to 4 years experience, or MS with 6+ years, or BS with 10+ years
• Demonstrated expertise in synthetic organic chemistry and multistep synthesis design
• Strong problem-solving and independent troubleshooting skills in chemistry
• Knowledge of medicinal chemistry principles, structure-based design, and ADME/PK
• Scientific curiosity with ability to rapidly learn new concepts and technologies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative teamwork abilities

Compensation: $130,200–$141,400
