Materials Supervisor

To oversee the daily production operations by securing an optimum supply of material required for manufacturing to meet daily customer demand. The primary job responsibilities are to supervise processes, people and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to a production schedule.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Material supervisor drives replenishment of make and buy parts to acceptable inventory levels.The Material supervisor provides leadership and training direction to direct reports and takes responsibility for process sustainment.Makes recommendations to management regarding improving processes.Lead Focus Factory Daily Management meetings focused on Inventory.Oversee Kanban Audit and reporting of Kanban countermeasures.Responsible for escalation of POA “point of use” material shortagesResponsible to oversee tracking OTD “on time delivery” of consignment inventory receipts.Oversee escalations to receiving teams and material handling teams of hot part receipts.Reviews direct reports’ accuracy and urgencyInterface and communicate with production teamResponsible to issue corrective actionInterface and communicate with Planner/Buyer teamEqually important, the incumbent will manage and optimize related inventory programs without negatively impacting production to gain best use of working capital.Partner with the business to understand new product releases and seasonal trends to develop and maintain inventory levels in support of revenue and working capital goalsAbility to maintain clear and effective communication channels, both internally and externallyAccurate real time inventoryFIFO concepts for stock rotation are followedMeasures of PerformanceMeasure effectiveness in accomplishing work assignments through subordinates, establishing challenging goals, delegating, and coordinating effectively; promoting innovation and team effortBackground and SkillProficient at the use of MS office applications including Word, Excel, and AccessUnderstanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and methodsExcellent communication skillsTechnically capable of grasping new concepts quicklyFunctions effectively as a team member in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environmentProne to take responsibility and make decisions.Self-motivated and a high achieverRequirementsBS or BA Degree in Supply Chain Management preferred.2 years of materials warehouse experience in a Pull Replenishment environment is required.MUST HAVE STRONG: Leadership skills, oral and written presentation communication skills, team player mentality, negotiation skills, self-motivation, and a contributor outlook, etc.Ability and willingness to coach and train othersAbility to handle a fast pace working environment, changing production demands and a willingness to flex working hours to meet the needs of the business as neededFluent user of kanban box (able to problem solve abnormalities)CompetenciesProven skills in developing people; coaching and shaping a high-performing team.Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principals and/or the Gilbarco Production System.Ability to develop / understand and utilize standard work processes and training matrices.Strong leadership skills using an inclusive style of coaching.Notable change management experience with the ability to set demanding targets; and then motivate teams and individuals to deliver outside their comfort zones.Able to demonstrate an understanding of company goals and translate into action.Have strong personal credibility, integrity, and creativity.Strong analytical skills for problem solving scenarios.Ability to learn and master Vontier business systems.Able to communicate effectively within a diverse environment.Vontier partners with you and your family on your health and wellness journey.
