CLS/Social Services Tech 1, Part Time - (Fort Valley, GA)

Position Title: CLS/Social Services Tech 1, Part-time

Minimum Entry Salary *: $13.00 / hour

Description of Duties : (This position is located in Fort Valley, GA)

This is a community-based position. Aids clients in their own home and in the community to allow them to function more safely and independently. Facilitates physical, recreational, social and educational activities. Provides clients with a positive role model. Identifies social, economic, recreational, and educational services in the community that will meet clients' needs. Maintains a relationship as a liaison with other agencies, professionals, government officials, and the community. Recognizes potential crisis situations, analyzes such situations accurately, develops strategies to deal with such situations, and informs the key worker, supervisor and manager when such incidents arise. Recognizes potential emergency situations accurately and develops strategies to deal with such situations (i.e. dispensing medications, dealing with client's aggressive behavior where no harm comes to the client, staff, and/or the public). Assists case management team in identifying potential problems. Provides input to counselors and other professionals about the development of the client program plans. Monitors the client's wellbeing. Assist clients with daily life skills and/or behavior management training. Assist clients with basic cooking, cleaning, etc. Assist clients in attending appointments when necessary and provides transportation. It is the responsibility of the worker to ensure that all requirements are met to provide safe transportation (i.e. proper driver's license, daily auto vehicle safety health checks) Provides emotional support and feedback to clients (and their families and friends where concerned). Completes daily visits and documentation in Tellus and CareLogic.

Minimum Qualifications : High School Diploma or GED. Valid unrestricted Georgia Driver's License, CPR and First Aid Certification. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral needs. Must be computer literate.

Preferred Qualifications : Bachelor's Degree in Human Services related field.
