CRNA Assistant Chief - West Penn Hospital - Full Time

Job Title

Assist the Chief Nurse Anesthetist and the Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology in meeting the goals and objectives of the department.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the anesthetic management for all patients presenting for anesthesia care.
• Assumes all duties of the Chief Nurse Anesthetist during his/her absence from the unit.
• Establishes effective interpersonal relationships and communication with interdisciplinary perioperative teams.
• Demonstrates effective leadership and is responsible for ongoing professional growth and development.
• Adheres to the legal and ethical standards of nursing and of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
• Contributes to department, division and hospital goals.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Certification as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.
• 3 years clinical experience.
• CPR American Heart Association.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association.
