Assistant Professor

The School of Business & Leadership (SoBL) at Johnson University seeks a dynamic Christian leader to teach various Business Administration courses in multiple modalities and formats. Faculty generally teach four courses per term, depending upon class enrollments and credit hours associated with the course. Additional duties include advising and mentoring students to succeed academically and professionally, helping students locate internships, participating in activities beyond the classroom, such as recruiting career fairs or extracurricular events on campus, and other responsibilities defined by the University. Preference will be given to faculty candidates with a history of membership with Christian Churches/Churches of Christ. The start date is Spring 2027. QUALIFICATIONS Master’s or Doctoral degree in Business Administration from a regionally accredited university. Candidates with a concentration/specialization/major in finance and/or economics are especially encouraged to apply. Two to five years of teaching experience in a higher education setting. Ability to clearly convey information and ideas to others and demonstrate active listening skills. Experienced practitioner/scholar – abreast of developments within business administration and practical knowledge gained from organizational experience. Experience designing and delivering class instruction through developing lesson plans to meet course competencies, developing activities that support lesson objectives, and developing activities to assist students in developing critical thinking skills and practically engaging with the materials. Experience with designing interactive and teaching-learning strategies that are diverse, experiential, participatory, and collaborative to accommodate various learning styles. Ability to effectively communicate interpersonally (in the classroom and in one-on-one settings). Proficient with the use of standard office and internet applications on personal computers.
