About the Role

The Company is in search of a General Counsel to provide legal support to its Maritime and Warfighter business units, with a primary focus on government contracts. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of legal issues, including those related to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), solicitations, teaming arrangements, licensing, data rights, and various contract and subcontracting terms and conditions. This role requires a strategic approach to legal matters, from advising on proposals to leading the resolution of disputes. The General Counsel will also be involved in training business unit personnel on contract-related topics and must stay current on U.S. government contracting issues. Applicants for the General Counsel position at the company must have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, be an active member of at least one state bar, and be licensed to practice law in the United States. A minimum of 7-12 years' of experience in government contracts, particularly in the aerospace or defense industry, is essential. The role demands a leader with a proven track record in legal counsel, the ability to interact effectively in a complex organizational structure, and experience in high-stakes negotiations. The General Counsel will also be expected to manage a team and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Strong communication skills, the ability to build client relationships, and a hands-on approach to legal generalist work are key attributes for this position.
