Seattle, WA Job title: Certified Peer Support Specialist Supervisor Location: Seattle, WA Reportsto :Director of Recovery Programs Direct Reports: Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS), Certified Peer Support Specialist Lead (CPSS Lead), Other CPSS roles as allowed per DOH Guidance Rate of pay: $81,000 - $101,000 Position Summary: Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS) are individuals withlivedexperience in behavioral health recovery who are certified by the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) to provide peer support services. CPSSs use their lived experience to support others in finding their own path to wellness and recovery. They provide non-clinical, person-centered support in alignment with DOH guidelines, emphasizing mutuality, empowerment, and recovery-oriented systems of care. The CPSS Supervisor –Clinicisresponsible forthe direct supervision, support, and professional development of Certified Peer Support Specialists providing behavioral health peer services in a clinic-based setting. This role ensures compliance with all Washington State Department of Health (DOH) requirements and integrates peer support services into the broader interdisciplinary care team. TheCertified PeerSupportSpecialistSupervisor provides leadership, mentorship, and operational oversight to a team ofCertified PeerSupportSpecialistsand Trainees. This role ensures fidelity to the recovery model, protects against "peer drift," and acts as a bridge between peer staff and clinical or administrative leadership. Supportive & Reflective Supervision: Provide regular individual and group supervision focused on staff morale, self-care, and processing challenges without imposing a rigid clinical hierarchy. Administrative Oversight: Manage team scheduling, workflow allocation, documentation quality assurance, and compliance with Medicaid and state behavioral health regulations. Advocacy & Education: Educate the wider interdisciplinary and clinical healthcare team on the distinct, non-clinical value of peer support, actively calling out stigma or role erosion. State Compliance: Align program operations with Washington State DOH and HCA standards, supporting CPSST through their required supervised experience hours and continued education. Lived Experience Leadership: Model recovery principles and utilizeshared understanding to foster a safe, resilient, and trauma-informed team culture. Report team updates and concerns to the Director of Recovery Programs, provide disciplinary actions as needed with support from Clinical Supervisor/HR Support CPSS/CPSS Trainees as needed Coordinate & provide Bi- Weekly/Monthly Supervision opportunity to all staff on Peer team. Strategize & build Peer ran programs as needed with the support of the Recovery Programs Leader Build recovery-oriented relationships using mutual respect, trust, and lived experience Support members in articulating personal goals for recovery and wellness Provide trauma-informed, culturally relevant, and non-judgmental peer support Facilitate or co-facilitate recovery groups, education sessions, or engagement activities Offer harm-reduction resources, information, and linkage to services Document services provided in a timely, accurate, and ethical manner Maintain peer role boundaries and uphold the DOH Code of Ethics for Certified Peer Support Specialists Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and represent the voice of lived experience Advocate for the member internally and externally Qualifications: Required: WA State Certified Peer Support Specialist Credential with WA Department of Health recognized supervisor status At least 2+ years’ experience as a Certified Peer Support Specialist Minimum of 1 year experience in coaching, team leadership, or supervision Strong understanding of the Peer Specialist Code of Ethics, professional boundaries, and documentation standard Strong communication, professionalism, and organizational skills Self-identified as a person in recovery from a mental health and/or substance use condition, serve as a caretaker for, and/or have a family member who has experienced mental health and/or substance use condition Commitment to recovery values including self-determination, peer support, and empowerment Effective verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience providing peer support in an opioid treatment program (OTP), substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, outreach housing, or community-based setting Experience with or strong understanding of harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and recovery-orientated approaches within substance use disorder treatment Familiarity with the role of peer support within a multidisciplinary treatment team Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Statement We Care Daily Clinics is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
