Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Day shift, 3x12.0 hours.

The Registered Nurse (RN) ensures the delivery of quality patient care by adhering to the nursing care plan. This role includes supervising Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants while promoting a safe environment for patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission to establish individual care plans.
• Identify teaching needs related to patient diagnoses and collaborate with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in medical records.
• Engage in patient rehabilitation programs and prioritize education for patients and families based on identified health care needs.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and prepare patients and families for discharge.
• Communicate important changes in patient status to ensure continuity and safety of care.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel and effectively manage time and priorities.
• Maintain patient and environmental safety as per hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to the unit's functioning through team collaboration and support.
• Assume charge responsibilities as needed, and identify personal professional growth opportunities through education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (as applicable).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience preferred.
