If you want to make a difference, we want to hear from you.As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you'll perform critical respiratory care services, following physician orders to provide essential care and improve patient outcomes. You'll be a key part of Grady's commitment to excellence in patient care, working with a team that values expertise, empathy, and excellence.Responsibilities include:Monitors and initiates oxygen therapy, bronchial hygiene, oxygenation/ventilation assessment (Arterial Blood Gases/Pulse Oximetry sampling), trach care management, and noninvasive ventilation.Administers prescribed medication during aerosol therapy per protocol assessment.Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation and airway management, including intubation according to the established American Heart Association guidelines.Initiates and maintains advanced ventilation modes to include monitoring of cardiovascular parameters for patients on mechanical ventilation and implements techniques such as Bilevel, PC, CPAP, IMV, HFOV, BIPAP, Heliox, Nitric Oxide, arterial line insertion, and transports, etc.Makes recommendations to physicians regarding respiratory care techniques and effectively utilizes established protocols to ensure appropriate utilization of services.Plans, demonstrates, articulates, and coordinates the care and interventions of the patient that include consideration of specific-age related characteristics, needs related physical development, motor control, communication, socialization, and safety, in collaboration with other members of the health care team.Assists with quality assurance and performance improvement.Qualifications include:Associate's Degree in Respiratory CareRegistered Therapist credentials by the National Board of Respiratory Therapy (NBRC)Licensed by the State of GeorgiaCurrent BLS, ACLS, PALS certificationProficiency in computer applications like Word, Excel, etc.Strong critical thinking skills and effective communication with multidisciplinary teamsAll Certifications/Licenses are REQUIRED upon hire unless otherwise stated.Core competencies reflect the values and behaviors expected of all Grady team members, regardless of role.
