Community Lead

You'll have the opportunity to shape GMI Cloud's global developer and startup ecosystem from the ground up. From launching startup programs and building ambassador networks to creating community experiences that bring AI builders together, you'll play an important role in how GMI Cloud connects with the next generation of AI innovators. About the Role GMI Cloud is building the next generation of AI-native inference infrastructure, empowering developers, startups, and enterprises to build and scale AI applications. We're looking for a Community Lead to grow our global ecosystem of AI builders, developers, and startup founders. This role will focus on building communities, developing strategic ecosystem relationships, and creating scalable programs that drive engagement and adoption of GMI Cloud. You'll own our startup initiatives, ambassador network, and developer and user community growth, working closely with Marketing, Product, and Developer Experience teams to connect more builders with our platform. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who loves bringing people together, building relationships, and turning communities into meaningful growth engines. What You'll Do 1. Grow and Engage Our Developer & User Communities Build and scale GMI Cloud's developer and user communities across Discord, Reddit, GitHub, X, and other relevant channels. Develop community engagement strategies that encourage participation, knowledge sharing, and peer-to-peer collaboration. Create recurring community programs, discussions, challenges, and engagement initiatives. Identify and nurture active contributors, community champions, and influential members. Collect community sentiment, requests, and feedback, connecting relevant insights with Product and Developer Experience teams. Develop scalable community operations, moderation guidelines, and engagement playbooks. 2. Build and Manage Startup Ecosystem Programs Own the strategy and execution of GMI Cloud's startup ecosystem programs. Build partnerships with accelerators, incubators, VC portfolios, founder networks, university entrepreneurship programs, and AI startup communities. Design and manage startup initiatives, including community partnerships, promotional credits programs, startup events, and founder-focused engagement. Recruit promising AI startups and early-stage builders to participate in GMI Cloud programs. Coordinate with Growth, Sales, and Developer Experience teams to connect participating startups with the right internal resources. Build long-term relationships with startup founders and identify opportunities for customer advocacy, testimonials, and ecosystem collaboration. 3. Launch and Scale Our Global Ambassador Program Build GMI Cloud's developer and community ambassador program from zero to one. Recruit and manage developer advocates, AI builders, student leaders, content creators, and regional community organizers. Design ambassador onboarding, engagement frameworks, incentives, and recognition programs. Support ambassadors in organizing local meetups, community gatherings, and ecosystem initiatives. Establish repeatable ambassador programs that can scale across the U.S., APAC, and other key markets. Measure ambassador impact through community participation, referrals, program activity, and ecosystem reach. 4. Drive Community Events and Ecosystem Partnerships Plan and execute community-led initiatives including AI meetups, hackathons, buildathons, founder gatherings, and networking events. Develop collaborative programs with AI companies, developer platforms, open-source organizations, universities, and startup ecosystems. Coordinate event programming, partner participation, community promotion, and post-event engagement. Collaborate with Developer Experience and Product teams on technical sessions, ensuring the right technical experts and resources are available. Create repeatable community event formats and partnership playbooks to expand our presence globally. Build measurable growth programs that connect community engagement with platform adoption. Develop community campaigns that encourage builders to explore GMI Cloud and participate in our ecosystem. Partner with Marketing and Growth to identify community-sourced leads, startup opportunities, and potential customer advocates. Track community health, active participation, referrals, startup program engagement, and community-influenced adoption. Establish reporting systems to evaluate program effectiveness and continuously improve community initiatives. What We're Looking For 6+ years of experience in community building, ecosystem growth, developer community management, startup programs, or related roles. Proven experience launching or scaling communities, ambassador networks, or ecosystem programs. Experience building relationships with startup founders, accelerators, developer organizations, or technology communities. Strong understanding of the AI and developer ecosystem, with enthusiasm for emerging AI technologies and applications. Experience running community campaigns, meetups, hackathons, or partnership-driven programs. Strong communication, relationship management, and cross-functional coordination skills. Demonstrated ability to develop programs, measure results, and execute independently. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment and building new initiatives from scratch. Nice to Have Experience at an AI infrastructure, developer tools, cloud, or API platform company. Existing relationships with AI startup founders, VC networks, accelerators, or developer communities. Experience running ambassador programs across multiple regions. Familiarity with Discord community operations, CRM systems, and community analytics tools.
