Production Area Specialist - Nights

Days/Hours of Work Tuesday - Saturday 9:00pm - 6:00am Job Summary The Production Area Specialist is instrumental in training, advanced troubleshooting, basic maintenance, and overseeing our Performance Monitoring System. This role provides deep expertise, guidance, and leadership within the production department, advancing our mission to deliver efficient, safe, and innovative finished goods. Job Responsibilities Safety: Ensure all production packaging equipment meets Heartland’s safety program standards and industry best practices. Conduct inspections, report hazards, and promote a culture of safety. Expertise Sharing: Share knowledge of packaging equipment with cross‑functional teams. Monitor performance, troubleshoot, perform routine maintenance, collaborate with technical support, provide training, and facilitate shift changeover meetings. System Design and Integration: Support design and integration of packaging systems, assess needs, select technologies, and oversee implementation. Training: Develop and deliver training programs for production associates on equipment technologies, maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality policies. Innovation: Stay current with emerging trends and equipment technologies, identifying improvement opportunities. Troubleshooting: Primary contact for complex technical issues. Diagnose faults, make corrective adjustments, and cooperate with software updates. Performance Optimization: Analyze data and performance metrics to identify improvement areas and collaborate to optimize efficiency. Support and train Operational Technicians, perform routine checks, manage product and package changeovers, and conduct Cleaning, Inspection, and Lubrication maintenance. Documentation: Ensure quality checks, food safety regulations, and safety operations are followed. Maintain accurate records of production data, maintenance, and process parameters. Collaboration: Work with department leaders, plant engineers, and customers for successful execution, delivery, and satisfaction. Job Requirements High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s preferred. Minimum three years of work experience. Prior experience as an Operational Technician. TPM/Lean Six Sigma experience preferred. Demonstrated mechanical and technical skills on bottle and can lines. Excellent communication skills for shift meetings and reports. Advanced troubleshooting skills. Analytical data‑interpretation skills. Knowledge of LEAN, TPM (including 5S, Root‑Cause Analysis, continuous improvement) preferred.
