Job Description
THE WORK YOU DO CHANGES LIVES.
HELP OTHER CLINICIANS DO THE SAME.
Licensed Child & Family Therapist + Clinical Supervisor (LPCMH, LCSW, LMFT) - Child & Family Therapy
Outpatient Mental Health Therapy • Middletown, Delaware • Full-Time • W2
Clinical Supervisor • Child Therapist • Family Therapist • Mental Health Counselor • Delaware
✓ W2 employee — not 1099
✓ Earn $100 per week per supervisee
✓ Flexible scheduling ✓ Annual performance-based raises ✓ Paid admin and documentation time
You know what good clinical supervision looks like. You’ve probably experienced both ends of it — the kind that sharpened your clinical thinking, challenged you to grow, and helped shape the therapist you are today, and the kind that felt like little more than a requirement to complete.
You know the difference. So do we.
At Resilient Kids, this role was created for clinicians who are ready to bring the full depth of their experience to bear: maintaining a meaningful caseload with children and families, providing genuine supervision to pre-licensed therapists, and helping shape the clinical culture of a practice entering its next phase of growth.
We’re looking for a clinician who values strong documentation, thoughtful clinical work, ongoing professional development, and meaningful mentorship.
We’re committed to creating a workplace where clinicians can build meaningful, long-term careers through professional development, leadership opportunities, strong clinical support, and a culture that values both excellence and sustainability.
Why This Practice Exists
Resilient Kids Child & Family Therapy was founded in 2017 by Marissa Lloyd, LPCMH, on a simple conviction: children and families receive better care when therapists feel genuinely supported.
We maintain high clinical standards, clear expectations, and a culture of accountability. We also believe therapists do their best work when they are supported by strong leadership, meaningful consultation, and an administrative team that handles the operational burdens that contribute to burnout elsewhere.
Today, we serve children, teens, and families throughout Southern New Castle County through our Whitehall office, and Buddy’s Place, our nature-based farm therapy setting where we offer equine assisted psychotherapy, gardening therapy, and small farm animal assisted therapy.
Our referral pipeline is strong, and our admin team handles intake coordination, insurance verification, billing, scheduling, insurance credentialing support, and client follow-up so clinicians can focus on client care rather than operational tasks. We work hard to maintain full, predictable schedules and stand behind our policies so clinicians aren’t left managing difficult conversations about attendance, insurance, or payments alone.
With the opening of our Downtown Middletown office this fall, we are intentionally expanding our clinical leadership team. We’re building leadership capacity before we need it because we believe strong supervision, thoughtful onboarding, and a healthy clinical culture doesn’t happen by accident.
We’re looking for a therapist who wants to help shape the next chapter of our growth while continuing to do meaningful clinical work — someone who values mentorship, accountability, quality care, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on both clients and clinicians.
The Role
This is primarily a clinical position.
You will carry a caseload of children, adolescents, and families — motivated, engaged clients who have sought us out and want to be in treatment.
Alongside your clinical work, you will provide individual and group supervision to pre-licensed clinicians on our team. Supervisors typically begin with one supervisee and may support up to two clinicians working toward licensure.
Demand for services is strong, and referrals are available immediately. Rather than overwhelming clinicians with a full schedule overnight, we intentionally build caseloads in a thoughtful and sustainable way while matching referrals to your clinical strengths and interests.
Our show rate exceeds 95%, and the majority of our clients are motivated, engaged, and committed to treatment.
A typical week includes:
- Individual and family therapy with children, adolescents, and parents
- Individual and group supervision of pre-licensed clinicians
- Weekly case consultation or Lunch & Learns focused on clinical growth
- Documentation time and meetings — all compensated
Clinical Autonomy
You practice in your own clinical voice.
We do not mandate a single treatment modality or impose a rigid framework on how you work with clients. What we require is strong ethical standards, timely documentation, and genuine commitment to the families in your care.
Within that framework, you have real autonomy in how you conceptualize cases, structure treatment, and bring your clinical identity to the work.
Clinicians interested in nature-based and experiential approaches through our Buddy’s Place farm setting have opportunities to expand into that work with training provided.
Compensation, Transparently
We believe clinicians should understand exactly how compensation works.
Expected first-year earnings of approximately $69,000–$75,000+, depending on caseload, supervision responsibilities, schedule, and performance incentives.
Here’s how compensation is built:
- Clinical session rate: $45 per completed session to start, reviewed annually with a path to higher compensation based on performance, experience, and contribution to the practice
- Supervision rate: $100 per week per supervisee
- Documentation time: $20 per hour (1 hour for every 10 completed sessions)
- Meetings and trainings: $20 per hour
- Evening and weekend differential: +$5 per completed session after 5:00 PM on weekdays or any time on weekends
- Paid onboarding and training
Unlike many private practice settings, your compensation does not depend on insurance reimbursement rates, claim processing timelines, or split-fee arrangements. As a W2 employee, you’ll know exactly how and when you’re paid, allowing you to focus on clinical work rather than managing the business side of practice.
Benefits
- Health insurance — practice covers 50% of the employee-only premium on a Highmark Delaware bronze plan; silver and gold available at your cost difference. Coverage begins at day 60.
- Malpractice and liability insurance — covered from day one, including supervisory liability
- 80 hours of Paid Time Off annually
- Delaware Paid Leave (HDFA)
- Delaware EARNS retirement savings program
- Workers’ compensation and unemployment insurance
- Employer-paid Social Security and Medicare taxes
- Annual performance-based raises
- No non-compete
A Schedule That Works
Children and families are most available after school, so our core hours run Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
To support client access, clinicians choose either two weekday evenings or one weekend day. Rather than requiring availability every evening of the week, we concentrate those hours into a predictable schedule that works for both clinicians and families. Outside of those requirements, the remainder of your schedule is yours to design. We work to build a full caseload around your availability and clinical strengths.
- Evening and weekend sessions compensated at a higher rate
- Minimum six evening or weekend sessions per week
- One telehealth day per week available if desired
- Flexible scheduling outside of core client demand hours
- More sessions means more income — not more administrative burden
Qualifications
Required
- Active Delaware licensure as an LPCMH, LCSW, or LMFT in good standing
- Minimum 2 years post-licensure experience
- Eligibility to provide supervision under Delaware regulations
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and family systems
- Strong documentation habits and organizational accountability
Strongly Preferred- one or more of the following:
- Previous clinical supervision experience
- Trauma-informed care training (TF-CBT, CPP, EMDR, or equivalent)
- Play therapy training or interest
- Experience with neurodiversity-affirming, LGBTQ+ affirming, or family systems work
Bilingual clinicians (Spanish especially welcomed) and therapists from historically underrepresented backgrounds in mental health are strongly encouraged to apply.
Resilient Kids Child & Family Therapy is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
How We Hire
We take hiring seriously because this role matters — to our clients, our clinicians, and the future of the practice.
Step 1 — Apply
Submit your resume and application.
Step 2 — Conversation with Marissa Lloyd, LPCMH
An honest conversation about your background, goals, and whether this is a genuine mutual fit.
Step 3 — Conversation with our Clinical Director
You'll meet with our Clinical Director for a relaxed conversation centered around a brief case vignette shared in advance. This isn't a test, and we're not looking for a perfect answer. It's an opportunity for both of us to get a feel for how you think clinically, how you approach supervision and client care, and whether we're a good fit for one another.
Just as importantly, it's your chance to get to know the person you'll be working closely with and experience our consultation style firsthand.
Step 4 — Decision
If it’s a strong fit on both sides, we welcome you to the team.
The Work You Do Changes Lives. We Want to Make Sure It Doesn’t Cost You Yours.
Burnout in this field is not caused by caring too much. It’s caused by systems that take more than they give.
We built Resilient Kids to be something different — honest, invested, and genuinely committed to the clinicians who show up every day to do hard, important work.
If that sounds like the kind of practice you’ve been looking for, we’d love to meet you!
