Job Title: Overhead Door Technician

Job Description We are seeking a skilled Overhead Door Technician to install, align, maintain, and repair overhead door systems in new commercial construction settings. You will work for an established, family-owned general contractor with over 75 years of experience in Iowa. In this role, you will work with doors, tracks, panels, automatic openers, and mechanical and electrical components to ensure safe and reliable operation. Candidates with up to 2 years of construction experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and align overhead doors, tracks, panels, and automatic openers in new construction buildings.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues such as springs, cables, and rollers, as well as electrical components like motors and opener systems.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and emergency service calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively for installation, maintenance, and repair work.
• Collaborate with crew members on job sites, communicate repair options clearly to customers, and drive with the crew to work locations.

Essential Skills

• Up to 2 years of labor and construction experience.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools confidently and safely.
• Experience with basic sheet metal work and carpentry.
• Knowledgeable in mechanical systems, safety procedures, and industry regulations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work comfortably from a lift at heights of 20 feet or more.
• Capability to work effectively as part of a crew in a new construction environment.
• Possession of a valid driver's license with reliable transportation for scheduled early morning shifts.
• Previous overhead garage door installation or new construction site experience is preferred.

Work Environment

• Primary work takes place on-site in new, unoccupied construction buildings alongside a crew of 35 people.
• Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with occasional extended days or Saturdays as needed.
• Practical dress code suitable for construction: jeans, t-shirt or sweatshirt, and leather work boots.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Iowa Falls, IA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
