Certified Respiratory TherapistShifts Available: Nights ($3 to $5 per hour diff in pay)Employment Type: Full-timeHours: 12-hour shifts – 6:30pm to 7:00amLocation: Providence Medical Center – Kansas City, KSWe are seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist, also referred to as our Respiratory Care Practitioner I (RCP I). The Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) is someone who carries out respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as directed by the medical and cardiopulmonary directors, based on physician orders. They focus on assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting care while considering the specific needs of patients based on age and population, in the absence of a supervisor.ResponsibilitiesWill provide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easilyConduct tests like pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis to assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patientsSet up, monitor, and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independentlyMay be part of a rapid response team in emergencies, which you will provide airway management, perform intubations, and resuscitate patients in critical situationsAssess patients' respiratory status, monitor their progress, and make adjustments to treatment plans as neededEnsure that all respiratory equipment is properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained to prevent infections and ensure patient safetyQualificationsCurrent State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license requiredCurrent Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
