Overview Boos & Associates is seeking a Manager to join the Client Accounting & Advisory Solutions (CAAS) team in Long Beach, CA. The Manager will lead full-cycle accounting operations, serve as the primary contact for clients and stakeholders, and guide a team of junior accountants, delivering high-quality accounting, financial support, and strategic insights. What You Will Be Doing Client Service Delivery Manages the full life cycle of all assigned engagements by providing technical expertise in all areas within the finance and accounting function; produces accurate financial statements and conducts financial analysis. Understands client technology packages supporting accounting/finance functions; describes major system functions, how they perform them, and applies technologies to engagements. Facilitates effective discovery meetings with clients; identifies objectives and key financial information valued for management decisions; maps the client’s current internal finance and accounting structure. Determines the cost of building a client solution; communicates the value of the engagement to the client. Collaborates with Senior Managers and Directors to formulate recommendations on technical accounting issues; educates clients on evolving finance and accounting needs; identifies areas of opportunity. Periodically reviews solutions with clients and recommends changes as needed. Supports clients through business changes and manages the full life cycle of engagements; provides technical management for accounting functions. Gathers and organizes information from clients to support the team and builds strong client relationships. Business Development Adopts business development strategies and ensures prospect and sales information is entered into CRM. Recommends and designs solutions for clients; develops statements of work with leadership support. Gains exposure to industry teams and resources; participates in industry events and networking. Identifies new opportunities with existing clients and communicates them to leadership; articulates advisory services and the firm’s offerings to clients and prospects. Developing Others Fosters a change-ready culture and accountability. Identifies staff needs to develop analytics and forecasting skills; supports professional development. Participates in recruiting and onboarding processes for Associates and Senior Associates. Serves as a resource for junior staff, deepening knowledge of finance and accounting functions, technology, and industry-specific considerations. Project Management Creates work plans following project management best practices. Manages billing and engagement economics; monitors metrics and ensures timely invoicing. Oversees client satisfaction, quality of work, and engagement performance. Collaborates with the team to resolve billing issues and ensures adherence to SOWs. Supervisory Responsibilities Oversees client engagements, reviews work, and provides feedback to staff. Evaluates performance and helps set development goals for Senior Associates and Associates. What You Bring Education Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics, required MBA or other relevant advanced degree, preferred Experience Five (5) or more years of relevant experience, required Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience, preferred Consultative or business advisory experience, preferred License/Certifications CPA certification preferred Software Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), required Experience with QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Bill.com, preferred Experience with advanced financial reporting tools and data visualization platforms Experience using accounting research tools, preferred Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Understanding of finance and accounting functions and related best practices; ability to analyze client structures and identify value-added services Presents effectively to individuals and groups; clear, concise communication; persuasive when appropriate GAAP knowledge, financial statement presentation, and report writing Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment; focus on quality and client satisfaction Ability to work independently or in a team; strong relationship-building with internal staff and clients Compensation Information: Salaries are determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
