Connect Staffing is hiring a Sit-Down Forklift Operator / Forklift Operator for a roofing materials manufacturer in Fontana, CA. This is a temp-to-hire position paying $18.50/hr on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule. In this role, you will alternate between manually palletizing heavy roofing felt rolls and operating a sit-down forklift to move loaded pallets onto a conveyor system — all in an outdoor yard environment. The schedule runs 4 days on / 4 days off and includes built-in overtime most weeks.

Pay: $18.50/hr + $200 monthly attendance bonus

Schedule: Monday - Sunday 12-hour shifts, rotating 4 days on / 4 days off — alternates monthly between 6:45am–7pm and 6:45pm–7am

Location: Fontana, CA

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Work Environment: Outdoor yard

Overtime: 15 hours every other week

Responsibilities

• Work in pairs to alternate between manual palletizing and sit-down forklift operation throughout the shift.
• Lift and stack saturated and coated roofing felt rolls onto pallets.
• Operate a sit-down forklift to move loaded pallets onto the conveyor system.
• Sort, stack, and organize pallets in the outdoor yard.
• Reposition and relabel finished rolls as directed.
• Keep workstation and surrounding yard area clean and free of hazards.

Minimum Requirements

• 6 months of recent sit-down forklift experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience handling roofing materials, construction materials, or heavy roll stock.
• Comfort working in outdoor yard environments across varying weather conditions.
• Familiarity with conveyor-fed production lines or high-volume palletizing operations.
• Experience working rotating or alternating shift schedules (days and nights).
• Ability to maintain pace and physical output across a 12-hour shift.
• Previous experience in general labor, construction, palletizing, or a similar production or yard environment.

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
• Ability to work at a fast pace in an outdoor environment.
• Steel toe boots required (employee-provided).
• Must pass a drug screen.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (E-Verify).
