1. Scripting Expectation : The candidate should be able to write code from scratch. focusing on automation, AI integration, and technical skills (Python, PowerShell) compared to another role which was more about strict governance metrics and policy adherence.
2. Technical Skill Level : The Manager is not looking for a full engineer but someone capable in specific technical areas, emphasizing practical experience with automation, scripting, and low-code tools.
3. Automation Focus : The primary automation priority is a massive control validating 500 applications monthly, aiming to reduce the remaining 15% manual effort and increase efficiency/volume.
4. Key Requirements : Must-haves include practical experience with automation/scripting/low-code tools, basic to intermediate scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, VBA), and the critical ability to document automation logic for audit defensibility.
5. Day-to-Day Activities : Responsibilities include attending meetings to understand new tooling, aligning with future tech strategy, understanding current processes, solving urgent data analysis problems, and representing the team in internal tech meetings.
6. Future Team Structure : An offshore team of five people will eventually support cross-functional development, and this role will interface with them, doing requirements, polish, and testing.
7. Automation Scope : The role will focus on automating current controls to achieve higher volume and faster processing, rather than directly building new tooling for future strategies.

Experienced Information Security Analyst serving as a governance automation and integration specialist within the Information Protection domain. This advanced individual contributor role is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and sustaining automation solutions that transform manual and semi-automated governance, risk, and control processes into scalable, repeatable, and audit-defensible execution models. The role builds and maintains connectors, integrations, workflows, scripts, and API-driven solutions across enterprise platforms, commercial applications, and internally developed systems to support data protection governance, policy adherence, control execution, enterprise metrics, regulatory reporting, and audit readiness. Working independently and in partnership with business, technology, data, and development teams, the successful candidate translates governance requirements into technical solutions, identifies automation opportunities, and continuously improves the efficiency, consistency, and sustainability of enterprise control execution.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Required Tools & Skills

• Practical experience using automation, scripting, low-code platforms, or application integration technologies to support repeatable governance and control execution activities

• Intermediate scripting and automation development experience (Python, PowerShell, VBA, or similar languages) with the ability to independently develop production-ready automation solutions

• Experience designing, building, and troubleshooting API-based integrations PREFERRED

• Experience working with JSON, XML, CSV, and structured data exchange formats

• Experience building connectors between enterprise platforms, internal applications, and reporting systems

• Ability to validate that automated control outputs accurately reflect control intent and risk outcomes

• Ability to communicate complex risk topics clearly through written deliverables, executive level presentations, and governance summaries

• Experience using enterprise approved generative AI tools with understanding of human in the loop / human in the middle controls

• Microsoft Excel (advanced analysis, pivot tables, data validation)

• Experience with enterprise metrics, data, and reporting platforms

Desired / Preferred Skills

• Power Automate for workflow, notifications, or governance automation

• Power BI and/or Microsoft Fabric experience

• Information protection or data security experience

This is a Contract position based out of Chandler, AZ.

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $72.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
